This is an old prune processing barn I’ve fixed up to be my art gallery. The wooden floor was the old landing where horse drawn carts would pull up to and boxes of prunes were off loaded for processing. Below in the Sculpture room metal tracks can still be seen where carts were used to transport trays of prunes to the old wood-fired dryer on site.

Inspired by the material at hand - reclaimed vertical grain redwood i.e. Temple Wood I’ve updated this space for my showroom. Three main sources for the wood are used in this facelift: Siding from an old house in Sanora, Santa Cruz water tank, and a bridge in Lodi (exterior beams). The chairs (design by George Nakashima) are made from old redwood water tank material. All stones were collected from private properties in the Sierras. Much more to add and better pictures to follow!
One third of this old processing barn is gallery, one third material storage and the other third is the shop & studio. I’ll periodically update this page with images of current projects.
